Yikes!

We (my family and I) have had a VERY wild night. It was 2 nights ago actually. We had been home all day, and the weather seemed fine. But just before 6 pm, i started to rain and thunder (so obviously lightning :)). It wasn't bad. Then the wind picked up. My dad wasn't home from work and mom had just left for work, so we were home alone. We turned on the computer to watch the live feed of the weather, and even got a few phone calls from caring friends telling us to "Get in the basement!". So we did, and just kinda' chilled for a while. Then we started getting tornado warnings, and hearing about tornadoes in Greenback (about 10 miles from our house!!). Dad finally got home, and we decided it was best to clear out all the junk from the closet under the stairs, just in case--wink wink. After a while, the wind blew even harder, and the power went out. Then came the hail. It sounded like a tornado!! Gosh it was really scary! Even dad admitted he was pretty freaked! We got into the closet under the stairs and started praying up a storm! My sister was crying, bawling more like, Seth wouldn't stop talking, and all I could do-- other than pray-- was start blurting out all I had learned in science this year! We actually did learn some about how tornadoes, hail, and the like form. The hail died down and we went outside (smart, huh?) to collect some. It looked like snow it was so thick on the ground. Dad was freaked out because mom was still at work. We called: no answer. AHHH!!! Dad was just about to get in his car and go look for her, when she pulled into the drive way. After that, things calmed down. We decided to sleep downstairs, just in case. On the floor, the 3 kids were all piled onto cushions and a spare mattress. Mom read us Danny, Champion of the World. And I fell asleep. That's all the excitement I've got for now.

Please lift up a prayer for the people in the rest of the south. They are hurting. 300 people are dead due to this storm. Plenty more homeless. It's extremely sad.

Hope I haven't ruined your day with my depressing request, and scary story (not). Have a good one!
